Joan Macaluso Shorter is a licensed Real Estate Broker who has been living in Atlanta since 1993. She is the Broker/Owner of Intown Focus Realty. Joan works with buyers, sellers, investors, and landlords. Her clients and other agents refer to Joan as ‘refreshing’ for her forthright demeanor and the focus she has on her clients’ needs.
Joan has a BS degree in English with a minor in Labor Relations and has had schooling in Ceramic Design. Joan’s father was a general contractor, so she has been in homes under renovation all her life. She even g.c. her own home renovation in 2006.
Joan is originally from Buffalo, NY and lived in Syracuse and Albany before relocating to Atlanta. She is newly married and her husband is an analyst at an Atlanta insurance firm. He is originally from New Orleans, LA. She enjoys walking, playing with her dogs, crafts, cooking, and reading in her spare time. Joan has also just added Zumba to her activities. She is the founding member of the East Point Literary Society. Previously, Joan was a volunteer member of the East Point Planning & Zoning Commission and Business and Industrial Development Authority. Now her public service extends to the Conley Hills Social Club and trying to find homes for lost/abandoned/sheltered animals.
Her talent for matching people to their new home is what pulled Joan into Real Estate as a profession. Now, she loves the marketing aspect too. Joan utilizes many facets of internet and social media to market her listings and to find homes for her buyer clients.
